how does maryland notify students of acceptances? is it mail, email, or does the status page change?

Adchen,
https://www.sis.umd.edu/servlets/AdmitDec

Still no teacher rec for me.

EDIT: If you are worried, just call, they should be able to tell you whether they have the recs or not.

Status page changes and then the official package comes a few days later in the snail mail

do people know when decisions start coming out? if you are wondering, I applied before dec.1

February 15th!! They come out the same day for everyone online, I do believe.

LY some kids were able to retrieve it a couple of days earlier, DS was one of the fortunate ones to do so, but don't worry if you can't, it doesn't mean anything.

yeah i heard the same thing of march 1st. but feb 15th sounds so much better.
my counselor rec still isnt checked ... and that was obviously sent with my transcript and school stuff. so idkk so weird. miscellaneous is checked though, so i'm hoping they got that confused.

I received email last year on Feb 8th for my decision.

Sorry for being clueless, but where are you all checking the status of your applications? Was this in an email I didn't get?

They're just links posted here and there on the Undergrad admissions part of the website.
No, the only emails I've gotten were confirmations that my app was submitted.

Why is miscellaneous checked?

I think miscellaneous is if you sent other stuff, even an email.

everythings checked off for me and I applied priority but Idk if i paid the application fee yet...can that affect when/whether I receive an admissions decision?

Do you know when exactly they make their decision by?

@smajohurko, the website said that we get an e-mail (if you're priority app) sometime in the first week of february, with mailed decisions soon to follow. I`m not sure about regular app decisions, prob between march and april

Is it bad if the teacher rec still isn't checked for a priority app? I'm sure my teacher sent it around Thanksgiving. I sent them an e-mail about a week ago and the response said they were going through the recs and that a delay of about 3 weeks is normal. Should I call them up, or should I give them more time?

I'd say just wait it out. They're not rolling or anything, so if they did lose it, it shouldn't affect you negatively.

I don't know about UMD, but I know for other Universities if something in the file is missing they will flag the file and mail you a letter saying you are missing this info
