Application Status

I got a call yesterday from the chair of the undergraduate math program, saying that I was someone they were very interested in and that the math department wanted to make themselves available to answer any questions I might have.

Does anyone know how many people get calls like this?

It's too early to hear anything. Around 1.5-2 weeks and decisions will be out ;O

I just went to the "Check your Admission Decision Online" link and it now says it is "inactive" and that we can confirm enrollment after admission decisions have been mailed.
It says to check back the beginning of February.
I am assuming they are currently updating their system - and probably we should see something next week.
Good Luck everyone!!

^ Yep, my dad just told me the same thing because he was checking mine.
Good luck, everyone. =)

does anyone know the rough date as to when they release decisions for those of us that applied early? I know that on their site they said they'll MAIL it to us by march

If you try to read between the lines of what they have posted on the Application status link on the website, they state that they will be confirm enrollment status AFTER admisssion decisions have been mailed.
Then they say to check back the beginning of February.

So, if we are to check back the beginning of February and this is after the decisions have been mailed, I would bet the decisions are being mailed out early next week.

So keep checking the mailbox!

Don't read too much. The time delay is not long, realize that for IS it could be 1 day for snail mail to get to applicants, thus the results could be online before it is in your mailbox...that is what happened to us. They could mail them Monday night and be in your mailbox by three the next day and on-line that same day in the morning.

I don't remember anybody on this site last yr who got it in the mail first, they all found out on line before the letter was in hand. For us the sanil mail showed up about 2-3 days later than on line. My guess is that you won't find out until @the 9th via on-line and the same for IS snail mail. Obviously snail mail for OOS will take a few days more.

Admission Decisions are available on line today!

Good luck everyone!

I bet tomorrow you will have something in your mailbox

nah i bet not because technically this isnt even up, i bookmarked the site before it went down, mail will prob come when they said, around the 15th

go check guys go!!! they are up! so excited.

I just tried to check and it said the site was still inactive, did you guys really get yours...where did u hear that decisions were online

well....this SUCKS. freshman first
Thank you for your application for admission to the University of Maryland. While we cannot offer you admission for the fall semester, we are impressed with all you have accomplished and we are pleased to offer you admission for the Spring 2010 semester which begins in January.

You can look forward to receiving an official decision letter which will contain detailed information about your admission and the variety of options available to you prior to your spring enrollment at the University of Maryland.

forgot to mention good luck to everyone else who applied!

sorry for the triple post but, anyone who accepted freshman first and did the freshman connection that was OOS? If so, where did you stay for the fall semester...maybe they expect me to pitch a tent inside byrd stadium and walk to class from there for the fall semester, though it might get kinda cold...
anyone with advice PLEASE let me know.

DS has a friend who did freshman first (he doesn't call it connection) There are apts right outside of the main campus gates that they live in. UMD had a contract up to this yr for these kids, but the rumor is they are no longer renewing it. It is a large apt building with garage parking. His friend is from NY, up until Thanksgiving she intended to transfer to Cornell (was spring admit there), but decided to stay. When they returned she moved into Easton. Bullet is going up to see DS tomorrow so I'll get the name of the apts that UMD uses. If I recall correctly the shuttle does run to the apts.

Personally I think Byrd or Comcast stadiums probably have nicer bathrooms than any of the dorms for freshman.

ALSO WARNING...NOBODY START ASKING IF YOU CAN LIVE IN THE SUITE DORMS...THE ANSWER IS YOU BETTER PROVE THAT YOU NEED TO FOR SOMETHING LIKE MEDICAL...SAME FOR SINGLES.

If you think you even might attend, send the check in, the longer you wait the lower your chances of getting a double and the higher the probability goes up for getting a triple or a quad.
