Application tracking

I know that the offices are backed up right now, but I'm missing several test dates and I'm concerned that they weren't received because they were reported several weeks back: One ACT, and two subject test retakes.

I know that I've requested the reports so should I worry about them making it in time?

No.

Honestly, you shouldn’t worry at any point, but you certainly shouldn’t worry right now.

Test scores are not immediately reported to schools by the testing agencies – they’re delivered electronically once or twice a month. So it’s possible your scores haven’t been delivered to MIT yet by the testing agencies. It’s also possible that they’ve been delivered, but your status simply hasn’t yet been updated.

mollie,

Would the same hold true of letters of recommendation? My son’s MIT account doesn’t show his humanities teacher recommendation as being processed. Will his whole application be thrown out if the letter isn’t processed by tomorrow? He spoke with her a few weeks ago and she was supposed to have sent it.

Thank-you.

Oh, um, just read your post to RD applicants. Never mind! :-)

Will faxed in supplemental materials appear anywhere on the tracking?

I don’t think supplemental stuff shows up, at least none of mine did

No, supplemental material cannot be tracked.

Incoming letters will take 2-3 weeks to process. As long as you’ve postmarked it by the deadline, you’re fine. (It might be worth checking with the recommender to see if it’s been sent out, but you don’t need the materials processed by the deadline.)
