Application Trends for '10

Here are some just released application numbers for some top LACs. These numbers are for the class of 2010. Feel free to add more as they are announced...

Williams College: 5960 applications (up 2.3% from last year's total of 5822)
Amherst College: 6126 applications (down 2% from last year's total of 6274)
Middlebury College: 6187 applications (up 18% from last year's total of 5225)
Bowdoin College: ~5400 applications (up 7% from last year's total of 5026)

Why would Amherst be down?

Not clear. A difference of 2% is not significant.

Even tho it's not a LAC, when i went for an NYU interview for their HEOP/C-Step program, they told us that they receieved around 35,000 applicants and are only accepting more or less 4,000!!

Now that lowers my confidence a whole lot lol

Arcadia, where did you find the Bowdoin numbers? I haven't been able any.

Nevermind, it was embedded in the "New Dean of Admissions" bulliten. Next time, I'll learn not to skim.

Will someone tell me what a LAC is? ::feels stupid::

liberal arts college

ooohhhhh.... it all makes sense now. Thanks.
