Applications for the Class of 2010

<p>im conducting an informal study to see just how much the number of applications is actually increasing around the country (going back eight years). it would be really helpful if you could post the number of applications submitted at various schools around the country this year if it was in your acceptance/rejection letter or you found it elsewhere (most schools havent posted the data on their websites yet). thanks in advance!</p>

<p>ill start with a few lacs:</p>

<p>swarthmore: 4850, up 19 percent
colgate: 7872, down 2 percent
barnard: 4599, up 4 percent
bucknell: 9011, up 9 percent</p>

<p>you dont need to post whether its up or down, but can if youd like.</p>

<p>ill post my results here when i have sufficient data.</p>

<p>Reed College: 3,051 applications, up 15 percent </p>

<p>A 76 percent jump in five years.</p>

<p>Williams: 5822 apps, went up 29 percent in 8 years</p>

<p>i have that number for 2009. is it the same for 2010? it would be pretty cool if it were.</p>

<p>Brown: 18,298 applications, up 8.2 percent</p>

<p>CMU: 18,000+, up 20%</p>

<p>Stanford: 22,000</p>

<p>Carnegie Mellon University: "The University reports that enrollment has increased 20 percent to a record of over 18,493 applicants. "</p>

<p>Holy Cross - 7,000 up 41%.</p>

<p>emory - 14,200, up 18% (acceptance rate went from 36% last year to 31.5% this year).</p>

<p>NYU. 35,073 applicants up 4%</p>
