Applied 1/22 Accepted 2/9 from NY

I submitted online application on 1/22, and received acceptance letter on 2/9. I am from New York State. SAT I 1360 (V620, M740), SAT II Writing 660, Math 2C 690, Physics 690, Japanese 740. GPA 96.xx%, ranking 5%.

are you going to michigan?

wow that makes me feel a lot better! i thought people who applied that late (like myself) weren't gonna get in. i submitted my app one day after you. hopefully i'll be getting my decision soon!

oh man..i submitted it around early-mid december, and i haven't gotten a response yet!

by "applied", do you mean submitted the application online (if you completed the app online)? or is that when it was processed by the school? i'm getting worried, because i submitted it on february 1st, but my online status tells me they processed it on the 4th. and my app is still "incomplete" (i have no clue why. everything was sent two weeks ago, minus the actual application).

CONGRATS, btw :D

dreamsicle, I didn't apply online. Oh, by the way, I re-took my SAT math IIC and got 750. WooooHOOOOOO!!!

i had app completed mid november lol still ahvent heard

ijm8710 - you should call, I think there is something wrong.

yea i kept asking dk y lol thanks though

sweet, mine was processed the 3rd and I still havent heard

Here is more detailed info for your reference:
12/22 Sent online application (1/22 in my original post was a typo)
01/03 This is the "Application Date" shown on the UMich website. I think this is the date the admission office received my application.
01/12 This is the date my "Other Required Application Materials" (essay, short answer question) were received. Since I submitted the application including esssy and short answer on 12/22, I believe 01/12 is the date the official confirmed those materials.
02/09 Received the acceptance letter delivered to my home by mail. However, the UMich website is not showing my status as accepted as of today.

Bucca, I wouldn't be so quick to assume something is wrong. Not every application gets a decision in the same period of time. A truly stellar application may hear a lot sooner than others. The University can be reasonably confident that it will be taking all applicants of that calibre like that no matter how many applications it received. There is no need to gauge overall application flow and expected yield to make that decision. But with applications closer to the margins of acceptability (and by this I mean, U-M gets many more qualified apps than it can accept, so it always turns away some great students--I don't mean these are undesirable students) it may have to make some fine distinctions among candidates. How fine to make them? It won't know until it has evaluated more of the applications. So it may take longer for those students to get decisions.

yay..i heard today..it was processed 1/18...IN!
