I applied at this cpa firm for an internship and I really wanna snag it for the summer. Well it's been a couple days and I'm thinking about in week I should call the HR manager and see if I can schedule an interview. The thing is I don't really have an idea what to say. I don't wanna seem rude or too bossy but I do want to show him/her that I am taking the initiative to stand out and get this job. Anyone have any suggestions on how I should go about doing this? Thank you

Just wait it out. If they want you, they will come get you.

It takes more than just a couple days to coordinate a multi-round interview process with everyone involved, especially at this time of the year.

In addition, it could also be possible that they are waiting for more applicants to apply before they make their decisions on who to interview.

Definitely wait a little bit longer. Do you know anyone that works in the CPA firm that might be able to expedite your application? If you try to contact HR yourself, there’s a chance you’re not going to get a straight answer and that you might come off as presumptuous.
