A couple weeks ago I submitted my ED application for JHU and the Restrictive EA application for Boston College. I was unaware that with Restrictive Early Action (very stupid of me) that you could apply to other EA schools, BUT NOT other EARLY DECISION schools.

I'm very worried now that BC or JHU will withdraw my applications. What should I do? Does it really matter that much?

Yes it matters. You should notify one of the two schools that you had intended to apply regular decision. Ask them to please change your application to reflect the correction. It doesn’t have to be a big deal to say you made a mistake and checked the wrong box.

What is a big deal is to explain to your high school admin and/or both of these schools why you violated the application agreement by applying to both concurrently if you leave your applications. You don’t want to have anyone questioning your integrity at this stage of the process.

ED school does not usually care where else you apply but expect you to be honest. Restrictive early action schools have strict guidelines which means you need to call Boston College and tell them you made a mistake.
