Early action AND early decision?

Hi everyone. There are two schools in Boston that I love. My first choice only offers EA but is a much more selective school. My second choice offers ED and is just as, or perhaps a little less, selective than the first. Do I apply ED to my #2 school to show them my commitment? Or do I apply RD and risk not getting into either school? I would love to go to my #2 school but if my #1 accepts me I want to go there. Please help!

P.S. I've already applied to my #1 school as EA. Am I even allowed to ED at another? I'm so confused!

Depends on the policy of your #1 school. Check their websites or tell us the school, someone will know the answer.

Is the ED school your top choice? You know there is a commitment if accepted. Once the ED school accept you, you need to withdraw the other application. Even if both accept you at the same time, you need to go to the ED school. If this is fine with you, you may apply to both though. Northeastern is not SCEA/REA, it is just EA.

I don’t believe Northeastern places any restrictions of EA applicants, so you are free to apply ED to BU. However, since Northeastern is your #1 choice and may not let you know before Dec. 31, do you really want to risk being locked into BU, who will let you know by Dec. 15?

You should not do this because you HAVE to go to the ED school if you are accepted. Even if you get into the EA school. Since the EA school is your first choice, don’t apply ED to your 2nd choice.
