Applied to Tulane 6 weeks ago

Hello,

I applied to Tulane early action 6 weeks ago. Other people in my school who applied only 5 and 3 weeks ago have received admissions decisions (both were acceptances). Should I be concerned that I have not yet received a decision?

I know that my grades are higher than both of the other people who were accepted, my test scores had a very slight advantage over theirs, and our SATs and ACTs were about equal.

Is there any reason why I have not yet received a decision through email, the mail, or the Gibson Portal yet?

When I contacted my admissions officer last week and I asked if I had submitted all of my materials she said yes.

Thank you so much for your insight.

Is Tulane your first choice? If so, you should definitely let your admissions officer know–if your stats are much above your friends, maybe Tulane thinks you are not really interested in attending there. Also, could there be anything in your LORs or essays that could be off-putting?

There was a spelling mistake on one of my essays but I don’t think it should make much of a difference.
I have also been in some contact with my admissions officer so they know who I am and have expressed an interest in the school.

4.21 GPA
31 ACT
2040 SAT
800 US SAT II
780 Chem SAT II

Is there anything else I should do or not do? Do you think this means I got rejected or deferred?
Tulane was supposed to be a target/high safety for me. I am very nervous now.

Same here. Tulane was a target/safety for me and I applied almost 7 weeks ago. I have yet to find out. My stats:

SAT: 2210 (770 M, 750 CR, 690 W)
770 Math II SAT II
740 Math I SAT II
630 Lit SAT II
3.786 UW GPA
4.69 W GPA
Hispanic

arb1995 and urstruly, you both definitely have the stats for Tulane. Did each of you write the Why Tulane essay or show any other form of designated interest (visit the school or local Tulane event)? If not, I would advise writing an essay asap and send it directly to your admissions counselor.

Yes jozuko. I met the regional admissions officer when he visited my school in October. However, I did not submit the Personal Statement when I first submitted my application. I talked to him about it and he said not to worry, just to email him it. I emailed it in late October.
