Applied to UCSD, what are my chances?

<p>OK, so I have been reading the forum for a couple weeks and have finally decided to post. Like some other members, I screwed around my first year and a half at my community college. I was working average 45 hours a week and taking 12 units each full semester, primarily to just cash in on my GI Bill. I stopped going to school in July 2005 and had a 2.6 GPA and 26 UC Transferable Units completed.
I am a little older, wiser and definitely serious about my education now. I enrolled for the Fall 2008 term, taking 12 units and I will complete this semester with all A's, increasing my transferable UC GPA to 3.05. Of course this will not take effect until the fall grades are issued.
I am unable to transfer to UCSD for Fall 2009 under TAG because I still need Critical Thinking and Math IGETC Requirements. I am enrolled in both for Spring 2009, along with 4 other classes, totaling 18 units for the Spring Term and will have completed IGETC by the end of Spring 2009. I spoke with my counselor who told me I should apply for UCSD Fall 2009 and if I do not get it I will have my TAG Agreement for Winter 2010.
Given the circumstances, what are my chances of actually making it for Fall 2009. When I completed the application on Monday, my GPA is 2.6, but after I enter in my Fall grades it will increase to 3.05. Does the UC view the GPA when admitted vs. the updated grades?</p>

<p>I am a Political Science Major. I have the past 10 years of working full time and a veteran, some volunteer work, but this is about it for EC.</p>

<p>Thanks!</p>

<p>your in(10char)</p>

<p>yeah, get your gpa up to a 3.05 and you'll be golden. </p>

<p>even with your GPA as it is, i would be surprised if you were rejected given your extensive extracurricular list. </p>

<p>best of luck.</p>

<p>Sounds borderline but your story and better recent grades may push you over.</p>
