Ok, so I am a Junior in Reading, outside of Boston. Emerson is my dream school and I have really wanted to go there since last year. I want to do journalism and writing in general...however, I kind of didnt really apply myself freshman year, and last year.

Basically, freshman year I did nothing involved with the school. I got decent grades (I think my gpa was a 3.4-3.3 the whole year) excelling in history and english, not doing too hot in math and science, and good in French. Last year, I became the head of the lighting department in the Drama club, so I do the lighting design and programming for most of the shows. Again, however, I got between 3.0-3.2 first-third semesters and a 2.89 fourth. All due to C's in French and Math, however I kept my A's in English and a B+ in honors history. I also was a member of the community service club.

So, now I am a junior. I am the president of a charity club (which isnt really a club because not that many people show up so its moreso me contributing to charity with the help of a teacher) I am an editor of the newspaper and I write multiple articles per edition, I havent gotten any report cards because we haven't been in school long enough, nor have I even had enough exams/quizzes to let me guage my grade. I am still the lighting head in drama and I am doing my senior project this year; a podcast on religious views and ethics of people within the student body, as well as an independent study in Creative writing. I am writing a book that I hope to finish by the time I apply to college as well.

I am also told I am very good at writing so the college essay doesnt really bother me. I am a tad worried about SAT's but I am taking a class at MIT so hopefully thatll help me build up my atrocious math skills so I can get above a 500 on the math section.

So, my overall question is: what are my chances of getting in now? and what would I need to do to get myself in a position where I can get myself in?

Thanks!
