Apply early = greater chance?

I've been reading some of the threads here and it seems like acceptance is hit or miss with GPA's in the 3.5 range. My daughter has 3.5 uw and 3.9 w - with a 30 ACT. Is there generally a better chance of acceptance if she applies very early?

She has her heart set on RCAH - no other school has anything like it. She would be very disappointed if she didn't get in to MSU.

hi, fellow future rcaher!

Her GPA and ACT are great for MSU! I had a 3.6 W, 3.4 UW, and a 29 on my ACT and got into the RCAH. Remember though to apply early, since MSU is rolling admissions. Trust me, if you get your application in before November, you should be fine.

Here’s MSU’s average admissions, though her ACT should still help her off set the /slightly/ lower GPA. Has she done any extracurriculars?

EDIT: Also, assuming that .4 boost is due to a large number of APs/Honors courses, they’ll take that into consideration. Remember, getting a 3.5 overall in challenging courses vs a 4.0 in easy courses makes a difference.

Yes, there is a better chance if you apply early but she should still be fine.

Also, I just graduated from the RCAH if you have any questions :).

(I talk to a lot of RCAH prospects on here and their parents so sorry if this is redundant)
