For colleges that offer both an EDI date and an EDII date, is there an advantage to waiting and applying by the EDII date? Do fewer applicants go with the EDII date, increasing the possibility of an offer? Is there information located in the Common Data Set for a specific school that will help us determine the "odds" of waiting for EDII?

There’s usually a flurry of activity after the ED I decisions are released. Students who were deferred or rejected by their ED I colleges rush to apply ED II to their next choice. So when students apply ED II, it’s often not because they waited for that date, but because ED I didn’t pan out for them.

I am not aware of any advantage of ED I over ED II, or vice versa.
