i applied a week before the deadline (feb 01). will my chance relli differ if i had applied a couple of months earlier.
also please visit thread "chances? v.low verbal!!" and gimme ure opinion on my chances

I think your chances are fair due to the low verbal and very late filing of the application.

fair = good???

or

fair = not so good???

??????

also, when will umich notify me about their decision... is there like a notification deadline or something?

In other words, Michigan is a reach for you and you will probably not hear from them until some time in March.
Good does not equal fair.
Your best chance would have been to apply in September or October.

Nothing you can do now but wait for Michigan.

ok thx for ure opinion. but seriously... in my opinion u wont need english in an engineering course... i mean if u get a 800 in math 2c dat should be enuf to get u in.... after all not dat many ppl get 800 in it

anon, the text messaging style of writing is annoying and frankly, speaks to your low verbal score

You will find out if Michigan agrees with your analysis in the next month or two.

haha yea. and spikemom sorry if i am annoying i am not meant to be.... my english suks and u should not mock me dat is just not nice >.<"

personally, I agree with spikemom. Even if your "english suks" please don't try to tell me you don't know how to spell "that" or "you" if you're seriously considering Univeristy of Michigan.

Other than that, I think you still have a chance. I applied towards the middle of January and got the reply yesterday. So don't lose hope!

many ppl get 800 on math 2c
it's 1c that not many people don't get 800

"but seriously... in my opinion u wont need english in an engineering course..."

Maybe so, but you need to write decent essays in your application to get accepted. BTW, how were your essays?

Your chances decreased significantly due to the timing of your application. You would have had a fair shot if you applied in September. Many highly qualified candidates have been deferred already and your applicationis probably hasn't been evaluated yet.

Extremely solid applicants have a great shot at admission no matter when they apply. Other applicants have a lower chance of admission the later they apply.

800 on IIC is like . . . what . . 85th%ile? A bunch of people get 800 on Math IIC, the curve is really generous.
You have a very cocky attitude. If you think your 800IIC is enough to get in, why are you still asking for other people's opinions?

Remove the questiom mark that trails this thread's subject line and you'll have my answer. Applying early will generally enhance your chances for admission. Period. In addition, Michigan's official line on the SAT II exams is that they do not factor into admissions decisions.

The ability to speak and write well will be useful in any field requiring a degree. Did Stephen Hawking or Gordon Moore write in 1337?
