I will of course have to talk about this to each of the schools but I was hoping I could get some idea from all the helpful people on cc :) I know there are many of you who have personal experience with going/having a child go to bs after you/they have already been in high school for some amount of time. I'm in 10th and applying to repeat 10th. How do things transfer, as far as credits? My school requires many classes that are not even an option at any boarding school. Will this mean I would have little to no credits if I enter a bs? I have also seen several schools where things are switched, such as they are required to take bio in 11th grade and chem in 10th where at my school it is the opposite. On the same note, If they are required to take a class in 10th that I already took in my previous 10th grade year will I take it again? Sorry if this was confusing but thanks to anyone who can give some information!

Since many boarding schools don't operate on a credit system, the actual credits should not be a problem. From my experience most have a required level or number of courses that a student needs to meet in each department. These requirements are different for each entering grade. Each school is different, but most will not make you repeat a course you have already taken unless the material is significantly different. They may have you take a higher level course or take an alternate to fulfill the requirement. Schools are used to students entering at all grade levels. All of them have placement tests and academic advisers to insure that students are put into appropriate classes.
