Applying as a Transfer to Fall 2015?

I had a question about what college transcript I should show when doing my transfer application. Right now, I’m a freshman at a Florida school and I want to transfer into the Chemical Engineering program at UT Austin as an out of state student. I did a summer semester and I just completed a fall semester, and right now I have a 4.0 GPA. Due to AP/IB credits, I have 65 credits of what is essentially gen eds completed, excluding biology I and lab, chemistry I and lab, and calculus I which I took in college.

Since I’m over the credit requirement for transferring and since the transfer due date is March 1st (before my spring semester ends), does that mean that I can just submit my transcript only including summer and fall semesters without including my future spring one? Am I going to get admitted with strings attached saying I must have at least a GPA of x in the spring semester? If you have any information or advice about what I should do I’d appreciate it. My rationale is that if I don’t send my spring semester then you can’t exactly beat a 4.0 GPA, but on the other hand if I do include my future spring one, I may be a more qualified candidate. In any case, I don’t intend to just blow off my spring semester.

Also, is it rolling transfer admissions?

Thanks

I’m also applying for Fall 2015 transfer as well! To answer your question, UT will ONLY make a decision once 30 hours are shown completed on your transcript. I believe they will count AP/IB as hours completed. You will need to make sure your AP/IB test scores are sent to the university which you can do through college board. If you have 65 hours completed UT will definitely make a decision before the upcoming semester is over. They start releasing decisions in mid April usually. They tend to release admissions in large groups and isn’t per say based on when you applied. A person who applied tomorrow might receive the same admissions time frame as a person who applied in late February. All of us must play the waiting game…

I hope my response helped clear things up!

Thanks a lot, I appreciate the response. One thing that I forgot however is that to get accepted to the engineering school I have to have had completed physics I and calculus II. I’m taking these two courses in spring, so would the situation that you outlined still be the same?

Thanks

Also, once you’re accepted at UT they will rarely rescind your admission. They will not require you to make a certain GPA for the spring semester. As long as you don’t fail a class you will be in good standing.

I am also applying to the chemical engineering department at UT. I am currently a student at Texas A&M. Do you guys know if they will make a decision before I complete the first physics this spring? I have already been accepted before, but this time I am applying to chemical engineering
