Applying BME vs. not

So I know that JHU's BME major is extremely difficult to get into. It's something I'm pretty interested in, but it won't kill me to major in something else.

So should I indicate BME as a first-choice major, and hope that even if I don't get in, I still get in JHU? Or does it hurt my chances of getting into JHU overall if I put BME as first-choice?

Thanks!

If you think you might want to do BME, then apply for it. You can still get in to the university without getting into BME. Also, if you find you don't like it, you can switch out (although switching back is very difficult).
