Question regarding admissions...

for those who applied to BME, are their chances lower for the college if they are not accepted into BME major compared to the applicants who applied only to the college.

Nope. Somebody asked this at an info session, and the lady said no. If you don't get BME major, you could still get into the college, and it's not any more difficult.

pengwinsrwak is correct. Applicants who select BME as their first choice major are first reviewed for general admission to the University and held to the same selectivity standards. There is then a second review for those BME applicants who have been admitted -- this review determines whether the applicant will be admitted to the University and the BME program or just to the University.

Remember, JHU offers a number of other Bioengineering options for those students not admitted directly into the BME program.

AdmissionsDaniel, do you happen to know the acceptance rate (from last year) for BME? I posted this in another thread but I don't think you saw it.

chinchila, sorry I don't have those numbers readily available. I will say that last year's numbers will not at all be similar to this year's numbers.
