Applying EA to One School = Hurting RD Chances at Another

Alright...A little bit of CC-fueled paranoia here. But are the records of who applied and who was admitted EA at some schools available to others?

If so, does it matter?

Adcoms will only know if you tell them.

yes it hurts your chances for RD schools

it is recommended to change your name and obtain a new social security number before applying to the RD schools

The information is not available to others and it won’t affect your RD admissions in any way.

zzzboy, if you don’t like a question, just move on an don’t answer it.

Perhaps a little more nuanced answer: if you are a highly qualified applicant, all the schools will suspect that you applied early somewhere, so the RD schools will likely assume that they aren’t your first choice. If an RD school is in fact your first choice, you may want to take extra steps in your interview to make that clear. (For example, if you didn’t apply anywhere early, you might explain that to them.) But the schools won’t know where you applied early and what happened unless you tell them.
Edited to add: Harvard will still assume that it is your first choice.

^ lol @ the Harvard comment.
