Applying earlier than the ED deadline

Would applying earlier or later make a difference? I have heard from admissions officers that the first 250 essays seem more interesting than the next 1000 ones, although the last 250 are also more interesting.

Should I apply in the middle of October to make the Nov 1 deadline and hope that it shows more interest and they are just starting the process, so they don't start getting dreary with all these applications, haha. Or should I just make the deadline.

***I am taking the Nov 5 SAT II so should I not apply in the middle of October because they might mess up my application because it's so far back and won't be able to put together my SAT II scores and application? So I should just send it in on Nov 1? Thanks in advance!

They don’t start reading applications until November. The reason it is better to apply a little earlier (mid October) is that you have a higher chance of getting an interview.

I see, I am in Hong Kong, that works for here also right? Interview if apply earlier?
