Applying Early Decision w/o subject test scores?

I am currently planning to apply to upenn via early decision. However I have not taken my sat subject tests yet. The earliest I can take them is October 1st, which means that I might be pushing the deadline when I get my results. Is it possible to send my scores after my application?

Yeah I think you just send it to them directly. I’m taking them in October too for ED.

October will work, that’s what I did when I applied EA to another school. Just mak sure you list Penn as a scores recipient when you register, not when you get your scores back.

So when I register for October sat, I just ask to send them immeiately to upenn? Does it mean ht I can send my application before my results arrive?

The results come out October 20 or 21. Penn’s ED app isn’t due till Nov 1. You can easily add the scores onto your common app and then send it right in on October 20/21 (when the scores come out).

When you register for the SAT, on your collegeboard MySAT account, you can choose 4 colleges to send your scores to for free. You can change which colleges you selected for I think 2 weeks after you took the test. Put Penn as one of those colleges. Penn will receive the scores when/before you do. And yes, you can send in your Common App/supplement before your scores.

Penn want the official scores form the testing agency, having them on your Common App is helpful but doesn’t count. Sending your scores when/after they come out is logical, but I can tell you form experience that I don’t recommend it. Penn is receiving thousands of apps and test scores, from both ED and RD at the time. They could take significant time to process the scores. You don’t want to be checking your PennPortal on October 31st freaking out about your scores not showing up. I recommend leaving as much time as possible to fix mistakes with testing agencies. (I had a situation where ACT processed my SSN wrong and I was fighting with them and another university to get my scores in on time, and that was for an RD deadline!)

Also, to anyone worried, it doesn’t matter if you see the scores before Penn does. Penn doesn’t allow score choice (or at least not when I applied) so you’ll have to send the scores anyways.
