I'm planning on applying to the University of Michigan. When filling out the application I was given the choice of selecting early action, rolling admissions, and regular decision. So out of early action and rolling admissions, which would give me the best chance of getting in?And what are the main differences?

Planned app date: October 1st, 2011

Early Action deadline: November 1st, 2011
Rolling Admission deadline: February 1st, 2012

There are already a few threads about this - apply early. Just got back from an information session at U Mich. They advised to apply early - it will get an early read through and a response by December 23rd. If not accepted in first round, will go into the rolling admissions pile and you will know in spring.

Get everything done. Do it now. Common Application is up - you can start working on it now. Get your recommendations and send transcripts and test scores asap.
