Applying EE, question about first-quarter grades

I was double-checking to see if I had all the requirements ready to go for applying Early Evaluation, when I noticed that EE applicants are required to submit transcripts that include senior year first-quarter grades.... Did I need to specify this to my counselor when I requested for my transcripts, or are such grades already available on all CommonApp secondary reports? Or in other words, do secondary reports (for CommonApp) contain first-quarter grades for senior year?

I apologize if this a stupid question; I've just been getting really worried about apps lately as deadlines are approaching soon!

Thank you in advance!!

Your first quarter grades should be on your transcripts, so I wouldn’t worry about it. When I applied ED the admissions office directly contacted my counselor, because my transcripts hadn’t been sent in (my counselor forgot). What I’m trying to say is that all should be fine, and if there’s a problem the admissions office won’t hesitate to contact school counselors. Just focus on your application at this point. You’ll be great! Good luck :D

my school doesn’t quarter grades, just semester, what would I do?

To dconfused, my high school only did semester grades as well. I applied EE, and I sent in my semester grades very late (I mean, I had them sent in as soon as possible, but the semester at my high school didn’t end until late January). I remember it very well, and I know that I didn’t send them in until the first week of February. I was concerned that they might consider them too late, but I still got my “likely” letter at the end of February with everyone else.

To x501, I don’t quite remember the procedural aspects of the CommonApp anymore, but I know that I specifically was checking up and making sure my guidance counselor sent in a fully updated transcript. A quick call/email/trip to the guidance counselor’s office certainly can’t hurt to make sure that everything is going out as it should be.

Well my school also goes by semesters but I just assumed quarter grades would be the grades on my progress reports that I receive in the middle of the semester before the official report card at the end of the semester that show us how we’re doing… but perhaps that isn’t the same thing… If that is so, then I guess I will have to wait to send in my semester grades with my midyear report when they are available…

Thank you very much for the encouraging reply, Victoria16! Thank you too, advantagious. I really appreciate it.

If your school only has semester grades that is fine. My high school did not finish its fall semester until the end of January/early February so I sent in my grades in the secondary school report after they were available.

Random side note: my year they started reviewing regular decision applications towards the end of January, and based on talking with some admissions officers I found out my application was read without my fall grades! It all works out in the end :)

@welles10 Thanks so much for the encouragement and info! Now I can rest!
