I was accepted to psychology, but I'm thinking of changing my major to either A. Something in engineering or B. Another major in LAS- CompSci/Mathematics or Chemistry- something like that. If i reapply, i give up my spot in psychology- any UIUCers that think I should reapply for a different major, or are all the spots already full? if i do, i risk possibly not being accepted. Otherwise, if i do choose uiuc, should i just go and change my major there itself? any advice from?

You could just stick with psychology and take general ed courses, or intro courses for the majors you want to do, then transfer after your freshman year.
Just keep the GPA up

Just take gen eds and a math and physics class both semesters your freshman year, keep the GPA up and apply to transfer into engineering or whatever u choose.

Completing a program change at this point would affect your chances of keeping that seat at UIUC. Once next fall comes you should try to switch majors. at this point you can jeopardize your seat at UIUC

You cannot “reapply” for a different major now. You had to do that by mid-Jan. You cannot request a major change to the ones you mention until mid-way through second semester freshman year to transfer into the major beginning sophomore year.

Also, if you’re trying to transfer into engineering, it’ll be very difficult. It is very competitive so I wouldn’t bank on transferring in.
