Applying for fall of 2010 Cornell

nvm i guess i can’t apply since i only have one yr of bio. what a lame requirement for a business program

@chris089: u mean 3 forms from 3 different instructors? or 2 from instructors, 1 from the school official?

@ntmikey 3 forms- 2 instructors, one school official. they will also request a mid year report later

woah woah i thought we only needed 1 recommendation from a professor, we need 2???

oh crap! i was looking at CALS’ requirements, and i realized i only have 1 writing class. my other class is an english lit one (and they specifically say to NO LIT classes) right now the best i can do is audit an english writing class (registration closed) or audit a media class. would cornell still be okay with that? i would take the class but wouldn’t get credit/grade for it.

you know you can probably just tell them you’ll take these classes over the summer. Calm yourselves.

i heard doing that lowers our shot at admission

would auditing be a good option then? because then the class would at least be on my transcript. also, would it help to send AP score reports or just self-report them in my common app? and do i have to self-report all of them?

email CALS

If I send 2 ROLs, will that improve my chance to get in, cause both of my ROCs are from my major professors, I think the second may not be that important( the website says they only need one)

Might’ve been asked before, but who exactly is the College Officials Report supposed to go to? I have no idea how to get in contact with a Dean; should my school’s OASIS be able to handle that?

Purple, that form causes a lot of confusion so no worries.

Personally, I just bring it to the Dean of Students (which generally a lot of people do - and it’s understandable if you don’t know him/her on a personal basis). However, I believe that you can also bring it to your academic advisor, or anyone else that has access to your academic record.

do i need to absolutely finish ALL the prereqs in order to get accepted? i want to apply to the business program but it says i need 2 semesters of biology. i only have one year of oceanography (which i don’t even know if it counts or not)

Yeah, the OR form sucks. I had to get it filled out by 3 offices. Not having all the prereqs done puts you at a serious disadvantage because other qualified applicants who have them done will have preference over you.

@ironicallyunsure: im on my way to finish up my essays, but still want to make sure abt these.
-for the common app essay, i went all out WHY I WANT TO TRANSFER TO CORNELL, ACADEMICALLY
-for the supplemental essay, i basically just recycled my UC essay, tell them why i am interested in my major and how Cornell could help me with that (just a bit).
Is that what you did? thanks a bunch

When I called they told me that it was cool that I didn’t have the prereqs as long as I promised to take them over the summer.

How much of a disadvantage am I at? My current school doesn’t offer the writing course unless you’re in the writing program. And the English Lit course was denied by Cornell as an acceptable substitute. So I’m SOL lolz.

check a college nearby :)

I don’t think you understood my question. But whatever - nbd.

I spoke to them over the phone and they told me that minus the GTs, the transfer rate for non-GTs was 30% for CALS. So whoever was really upset earlier… not all hope is lost.

I’m applying for CALS too =).

Any CAS applicants from here this time around?

collegebatman 30%?!? omg I love you.
