hmm, for the bio requirement, is it ok to have 1 semester of intro bio taken care of (both lab and lecture) taken care of by AP Biology “bio” credits? i’m taking intro bio II, but it will be really weird taking bio I after bio II when i can take upper level bio I. so would cornell count my bio requirement as done (becasue I have credits for bio 1 on my transcript and am currently registere in bio 2). also, would it put me at a disadvantage to audit my second writing class? i can’t take it b/c i need the other classes for my major requirements, so i have no more room to register the writing class for credits.

I am CAS, still dont know I should send 1 ROL or 2, I have two, just worried about the second ROL may have something hurt me, will it make a big difference if I send two ROL instead of just one?

Two letters won’t hurt, I’m pretty sure.

Lots of bio applicants here. Best luck to all of you!!!

@melonbread91 - I think you should just call them. The transfer person I always get on the phone is UNBELIEVABLY straightforward. I’m one of those annoying kids that calls with 10 questions and likes to ramble, and honestly, she demolishes them in 30 seconds and I know what to do… cry. Just kidding.

@castiel - I wouldn’t quote me on it. But I’m pretty sure that’s what she said. I basically said, people on College Confidential make it sound like Cornell accepts no CALS applicants. And she said they were rumours and that every year it changes - but last year was around 30%. CALS isn’t known for GTs nearly as much as ILR is.

Cornell is my dream school too. I understand the panic. When we all get there - we are SO going to be happy.

yeah, i used to shoot down cornell as being the “at least it’s any ivy” school because of the elite mentality of my high school, but after seeing how happy all my friends from HS were at cornell and just how much Cornell offers, I’ve definitely taken of my arrogance glasses. I would kill to go to Cornell (and I’d beat up someone to go to a school like Cornell ;))

I agree collegebatman. Wow so 30% that’s a swell number, I have a lot more confidence now. thank you so much for providing me with that tidbit.

whats your major btw?

i’ve noticed a lot of people are applying for CALS. are there any GTs out there? If yes, then I shall give you the college confidential evil eye >( Nah, I’m just playing.

On a random note, I was watching a Jersey Shore special today and I realized I can’t wait for the second season lol

“…and then mid year report when they request it.”

So we send the mid year report only if they request for it? Or eventually everyone has to send in their mid year reports?

no, they said WHEN they request it, not IF they request it, meaning that it’s mandatory. However, you can’t give in your MY now clearly, so Cornell will probably contact applicants after most have had their midterms.

Is midyear report and midterm report the same thing?

@ntmikey - I’m pretty sure. Like 85% sure. That’s pretty much my Chemistry mark - so I wouldn’t trust it.

lol .

The Cornell Transfer Application Consists Of:

the Transfer Common Application, which Cornell uses exclusively (this includes pages AP-1 to AP-5, the College Instructor Evaluation and the College Official’s Report )

a $70 application fee or fee waiver

the Cornell Transfer Supplement to the Common Application, required of all transfer applicants as it includes important Cornell-specific information and required essays

the required Midterm Report

official college transcript(s), final high school transcript, and official test scores (SAT/ACT) if already taken

the 2010 Transfer Financial Aid Application for applicants planning to apply for financial aid

college specific requirements as noted in the Special Requirements for Transfer Students grid

Hey. Does Financial Aid Application ruin our admission chance? For example, I can only pay for school and everything, say, 40k/ year while school fee + room board is 50k/year, so I expect to get 10k from the school. Would it ruin my chance?

Never mind, Cornell has a need-blind policy, so i might say i need 15k/ year :D

i need full tuition lol and yeah you only need 1 instructor evaluation :D

melonbread91 - Yes there are CALS GTs out there reading this thread. I am one of them (AEM, hopefully joining Fall 2010). I say hopefully because I am a little concerned about making friends, it seems Transfer students always hang out with other Transferees at Cornell and never gel into the mainstream. That doesn’t sound healthy.

Oh yeah … and now after reading your post I am also worried about the evil eye LOL.

i don’t remember who said this, but just because CALS’s person said that they weren’t including GTs into the mix doesn’t mean that that number still isn’t inflated by internals, which always make up a big amount of transfers.

i have friends who started here as freshmen and also my transfer friends, so… yeah. it’s about what you do and how you go about making friends.

@ironicallyunsure: would you mind if I ask you whether you applied for financial aid? if yes, did they offer aid to you and how much?
