Applying for fall of 2010 Cornell

tatitransfer-- according to ironic there was only 1 humec external transfer that got in for spring, her.

Say what?! Oh man that is so not good. So the rest were just guaranteed transfers? I was actually feeling so positive about this whole process…until now

geez, I guess my PM isn’t working. I’m definitely up for Yahoo Chess, Castiel, but maybe tommorow since I am starting to get just a little tired

^haha they worked i got 3 of them lol, sorry i just signed on now. Sure tomorrow sounds fine

and tati, they included some internal transfers too

but in my opinion that was spring so maybe less spaces? who knows

ironicallyunsure told me spring is weird and they accept way more fall transfers

hey guys ive been lurking for the past few months, I am sophmore at a Cal State University.

3.74 GPA
volunteering, leadership positions, etc.

applying to CAS pre-med all the way!

Good luck to everyone, some awesome applicants!

humec applicants - there were 170 for the fall with 61 accepted, so you’re good. for spring there was 6 internals, 5 GTs, and me who were accepted out of 50-something.

i would call about that midterm report asap if they’re sending e-mails/letters saying they’ll drop your app. i always thought it was just wait until you had grades. i wouldn’t tell them that you were waiting on your second round of grades though :-/

sup everyone! i just joined and wanna say yall sound like amazing and interesting people and im honored to be a part of this forum community for a school we all want to gain admission to. The anxiety is egh…lol so hi  just added myself to CAS

do u know the stats for CALS and its biological sciences major irony?

Is it true that CAS Econ is super hard to get in? I read last year’s transfer decision thread and found that many of them were rejected. Scary!
Also, does CAS use snail mail to send decisions?
Thx a lot

@tati: Just wondering, but what did your online application status say?

@azonic: At the beginning, my status was missing instructor’s evaluation. After I fax the instructor’s evaluation, they check it as received. Now my status is “forwarded for review”.
One more week just pass.

Got it, so I’m guessing this next week and a half will be judgement day for most of us lol.

“John Connor…”

I doubt that. Last year, most people didn’t hear back until the first week of May. But, the earlier the better!

If any AEM applicants are curious about the numbers:

Incoming Transfers, Fall 2009
External Transfers 47
Intra-Cornell Transfers 35

They don’t give total number of applicants or acceptance rate, but the freshman acceptance rate was 11%. I’m curious about the spring10’ stats too but I can’t find those either.

where u get that stats from?

ETA: oh i found it on the AEM home page. biological sciences department does not have anything like that

sorry, i don’t know stats for biological sciences. they publish things in weird places and in weird ways shrug bio is competitive because a lot of people are pre-med. that goes for any of the bios (bio & society in either cals or humec, human bio, health, and society in humec, biological sciences in cals, humec, or arts).

violet - yeah, econ is really hard to get into, as is CAS is general. they have a ~9% acceptance rate for transfers.

i’m really surprised at how few ilr applicants there are O_O

^ I’m really surprised about that too. It also looks like I’m the only AAP applicant. hahah I feel really lonely.

I wonder what my chances are at PAM…ahh waiting.

Ugh, I keep checking this thread, and I feel like it’s losing its life!!! I guess no more new members out there looking in, or are there O_o!?
