Can I Make it to Cornell Hotel School???

I go to a very competitive high school that has about 30 kids admitted every year (to Cornell). It is a STEM based school that is one of the best public schools in the country.

Stats:
SAT: 2150
UWGPA: 3.7 (Without freshman year: 3.8)
WGPA: 4.2 (Without freshman year: 4.4)
SAT II: Biology (760), Math II (800), Lit (800)
National Merit Quarterfinalist

Activities:
Key Club (Editor, VP, President)
Public Forum Debate (Teaching Coordinator)
Yearbook (Ads Editor, Reference Editor)
Mentorship Program
Harvard Debate Council (A few awards here and there)
Internship at Medical Society
Internship at Hilton
Girl Scouts (Bronze, Silver, and Gold Award)
Girl Scout Congressional Aide Program
Fencing
Latin Honors Society (A lot of awards)
NHS
Relay For Life

Job/Work Experience:
Worked at a Medical Spa over a summer
Worked at a hotel

Other:
Hooks: I am a direct legacy (my older brother goes to CALS)
Income bracket: Roughly $300,000
Race: Middle Eastern (apparently "white" on the common app)
Recs: I think that one teacher rec is really good, but the other one is nice but generic, and my counselor one is straight up generic
Interview: I tend to interview well
Essays: I have been told I am a good essay writer

All thoughts are appreciated, thanks!

EC’s look decent. The internships, thought, are going to help you tons! Realize that you only have TEN slots for activities on the common app, so boil it down to just that.

I think the GPA is a little low, especially for Cornell, as is the SAT.
SAT IIs are great.
Overall, low reach :)

BTW. Middle eastern is white, but you also specify middle eastern

Thanks noel!

Also, I am applying Early Decision

That would help tremendously! :)

Cornell Hotel ED: Reach

Thanks Catria! Does anyone else have any opinions?

Honestly, if you get your SAT score up just a little and write excellent essays, then it’s a match, in my opinion. I’m applying for CALS and have the same SAT score, so from what I’ve been told, that’s the way to go. Good luck! :)

Thank you, anastasia. Best of luck to you!
