Applying for Housing at Tulane

At Tulane, do you need to be concerned about getting your housing application in as soon as possible to get good housing? From looking at their website, it seems like you have to accept Tulane first. We are still waiting for a couple other schools and have not yet made a final college decision. Are we ok waiting until April/May to complete the housing application or should something be done sooner to reserve the right spot? Thanks

In the past at least, Tulane didn’t really start looking at the housing applications until early July or something like that. Basically right after the Orientation sessions. So it didn’t really matter when you got them in before that, precisely for the reason you state, people have to make their decisions about Tulane first. I wouldn’t worry about it. Wait and see what you school decision is and if it turns out to be Tulane then get your housing application in. A lot of people wait until they have found a potential roommate, either at Orientation or through the Facebook and Roommate Click websites designed for this purpose, and then coordinate with that roommate to ensure their applications match up.

You don’t need to worry at all. Housing doesn’t start placement of new freshman until after due date for offer acceptance anyways.
