I am most likely going to attend Cal Poly but I want to here back from other schools so I will most likely apply for housing in April for my freshman year. Will applying this late mean I will get bad housing or none at all? any reply would be great

Cal Poly does make efforts to find housing for all freshmen who want to live on campus. Last year was a large class, my son (and his two roommates) didn’t accept admittance until mid to late April, and sent in their housing request at that time. They, and everyone else they know, are in forced triples (a “double room” for three), and all three received their 1st choice housing request.

Last year my son accepted and applied for housing on the 1st day it opened. His friend accepted and applied mid April. They both got the housing they requested. My son is in a triple in Santa Lucia, his friend is in Poly Canyon. His friend thought he was going to be in a bedroom alone but it turned into a double. They were impacted hugely by over enrollment so lots more triples etc. than in prior years.

thanks everyone, this is reassuring
