Is it easier to get in as a sophmore or freshmen?

To what school? Middlesex, or in general?

in general,well in my case.

Middlesex, St. marks, concord academy, and governors

Whoa, Middlesex, Im applying to Middlesex and Governor’s Academy as well!!! Maybe I’m gonna see you at Middlesex next year (fingers crossed). Hey, are you a sophmore??

In general it’s easier to apply as a freshman, since there are more spaces available. However if you are a current freshman right now you can always repeat a year at boarding school.

middlesex accept about 20-30 new sophomores, i THINK. i may be mixing this up with Groton, which claimed they accept about 20, in which case middlesex would be 40. lol

good luck middlesex (: mx was one of my top schools, except i got waitlisted for soph year ;
but i’m at a disadvantage background-wise (middle class, korean, from korea) and my stats aren’t outstanding so you’ll probably get in. (:

i’ll periodically come back and haunt your threads x)

If 40 get accepted how many apply?

anyone? 10char

I would call or email the admissions office for the exact numbers.

if you’re applying this yr…i would apply for frosh yr…mx has overaccepted the past 2 years and consequently there are fewer spaces for sophmore year…also take into account that waitlisters from the year before that apply have a somewhat better chance of getting in

At St. Paul’s, in general, for most years, 9th grade is slightly easier (they accept more). BUT BUT BUT, take last year. The mysteries of yield led to a slight over-enrollment of girls. So for next year, for the 10th grade, they may accept a few extra boys to rebalance the form (class). I would apply when you are ready, and not agonize too much about probabilities.

A better concern might be: Why go in 9th, not 10th? Answer: you have one more year to settle in, get established in activities, make friends, before you get to the year(s) that colleges really look at (like 11th grade).

Is there anyway you could apply as both? I want to enter as a sophmore next year, but I’d rather be a repeat freshman than not go to boarding school at all.

I would call the school

is it easier in concord academy, st. marks, or governors to get in as a sophmore

Did they change the spelling of sophomore to sophmore? If so, fif is really ticked that he didn’t get that memo.

Bama: just ask. It they think it’s appropriate, or if you are young then they may suggest it to you. ask Mpicz, he did. So did I (long time ago).

at my school, the class size about doubles in sophmore year.
