I have some questions about applying for our daughter's student visa.

We need to apply only two weeks before her school begins and at a border crossing, as we learned of strikes at visa processing centers and also wouldn't have had time for the minimum 30 day wait for an online application after we learned of her acceptance at her school. We also didn't want to be stuck without her passport returned in time for her to start school. But I am nervous and have questions....!

Do we need to open a Canadian bank account for her before we apply for the visa and are we really required to deposit $10,000 for a single student, in addition to the tuition? I am not sure I am reading the requirements posted on their website correctly. Instead, is it sufficient to show the proof of scholarship funds from the school, our bank statements that show salary to provide for funds amounting to the additional $10,000 (as their website says for a single student) and the ability to pay, all with just our documents at the time of application?

Thanks to anyone who will respond who understands this!
