<p>@AltoLime I was a private candidate for my A-levels. I’m not on the Duke FB page just yet. Right now, I have to decide between Duke and UC Berkeley because I’ll get in-state tuition if I choose to go there. Rather, I have to convince my mother to shell out $30k more for Duke!</p>

<p>I lost all hope after getting rejected from the ivies and couple others. But the good news is John Hopkins and NYU NYC decided I was good enough for them!!! Anyone else got in JHU? </p>

Tough choice for me to make over the next few days definitely. I’m already kinda gravitating towards Princeton though–mainly because of the much-better engineering program compared to Yale. The aid Yale’s offering seems much, MUCH more inviting than Princeton atm though.</p>

<p>Well, this place is dead. Anyway, where are you lot thinking of enrolling? I am 90% in favor of Duke and 10% in favor of NYUAD. I am pretty sure that I can do awesome research with a professor at NYUAD since he seems quite keen to get me involved with his work. That is the only thing that still causes me to think.</p>
<p>DUKE. Why do you even ask. NYUAD is still an experiment. Go for Duke; it doesn’t get much better than that.</p>
<p>^ that is what I have been told. BUT the Candidate Weekend experience showed me that there is INCREDIBLE potential in NYUAD due to the limitless supply of capital that they have. I met professors there who even used to teach at Harvard!</p>
