idk what it is but i dont feel like totally at ease about applying online. Help me out here with sum words of encouragement

well i did...so u should too.......i guess thats encouraging

Here's what could go wrong on the internet: it doesn't send or some information doesn't show up properly

Here's what could go wrong on paper: You mis-address it and it doesn't make it to the office, it gets lost or detained, it tears and loses some papers, somebody intercepts it and steals the $$$ fee inside, somebody misfiles it, somebody spills something on it, your supplements don't make it into the same pile (transcript, test scores, supp. essay...)

Thousands of students file their application electronically. There's not nearly as much reason to fear as with a rippable paper application.

i did the online thing. I spent enough money on envelopes and postage on my recs, i didn't feel the need to ship my apps priority mail overnight as well (and i had 11). The common app is easy enough, just save all the time. I put aside some time to arrange my resume and essay to ensure they fit just right, even though the ocd didn't get me any extra points with the colleges. It is a safe system, and you feel a lot more secure as you see little checkmarks acknowledging the receipt of your materials by the college.

hm true....

For the Common App essay, I typed it up on Word and pasted it into the little box when I was done. Then I didn't have to log in all the time to work on it, and I could check word count.

thats another thing im paranoid about the common app vs schools app...i dont see how they can be treated equal when they r so diff...life wake forest...their school app asks alot of diff questions on it concerning the school itself.

You don't have to use the common app exclusively. If you think Wake Forest would respond more favorably to their application, then use it. But other places aren't so picky, and you'll be saving yourself a lot of busy work by using the ca.

aha i knooooww...

i love my common app essay, now i gotta do different ones!

GRR

I heard that if you really want to get into a school, and it's a bigger reach for you than for maybe some others, doing the school application can give you a slight boost. Personally, I'm doing the school application for a couple of my reaches that I REALLY want to go to, better safe than sorry

ya thats wut im doin too

I think if you are applying ED you should use the school's application. I just think it shows more interest and care taken in filling out the application.
