Hello. I want to go the pre-med route for USC. What should be my first major choice?

I'm applying as an undergraduate... would I choose "Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Studies (B.S.)? Thanks in advance.

You can be any major you want as a pre-med. I am a chem major which unfortunately takes up a lot of credits or I would double major in gender studies. I met a girl who was a pre-med student and a journalism major. You can choose any major you want, although there are a lot of pre-med biology majors.

Wow... thanks. I thought I had to take a science-related major. Do you happen to know any popular majors at USC?

Do what you're interested in, if you want to be a film student do so. USC has a lot of great majors. As a pre-med student you have to take some specific courses chem, bio, calc, and English come to mind. Your major is completely up to you. I don't know what popular majors are on campus as I start as a freshman in the fall, but I know you can accomplish pre-med with any major you like.

If your serious about pre-med, I'd try the BA/MD program. You can still do whatever major you want by HP (Health Promotion) has it's great sides. Few people choose it so it's a small major (one on one attention). Personally, I'm an HP major but my friend is doing Biological Science as his major. He claims that it takes less time but do what you feel passionate about
