Applying Primary/Alternate Schools a Benefit?

Do you think applying to a primary school at Cornell, i.e. CALS, and using CAS as an alt. is an advantage or a disadvantage? and why?

most of the time it's not going to be any advantage. Only people who could get into both schools will be considered for their secondary - and I guess getting considered will very rarely happen anyways, regardless of grades. It may be a disadvantage trying to make essays for different schools sound genuine.

i thought the same thing, thanks

also, my information isn't my opinion or anything.
