Applying through Common App

Okay so I am a QB finalist. Hooray! Yay! Congrats to finalists, good luck to all!

One issue, though. I opted out of college match and chose to do QB regular decision because Cornell is my dream school and I must apply ED there. (Must. Yes.) Whether I’ll get in or not is… up to fate… or something. But that’s not really the point of this post.

Assuming I won’t be accepted into Cornell (which I’m convincing myself will happen because I consider myself a veiled pessimist calling herself a realist), I have been thinking ahead about RD for QB. My second choice after Cornell is Swarthmore. Swarthmore, unfortunately for me, does not require the Common Application in addition to the Questbridge application (this link explains: http://www.questbridge.org/swarthmore-app-requirements/#regdec ). This means that all of my essays I submitted to QB will be submitted to Swarthmore, correct? And that I won’t need to send in my Common App?

(Please correct me if I am wrong…)

(Please…)

If the above is true, however, I’m in a slightly big predicament because I have 22% confidence in my QB essays. Actually, 12%. I literally churned them out in two hours. They’re not BAD, but they’re not good by my standards. On the other hand, I have everything prepared for the Common App and my essays are so much better. I was relying on the CA and now that I must apply through QB only… my chances for Swarthmore seem bleak. Especially because my EC are weak and I’m mainly depending on my writing skills for colleges lol.

I’m praying someone will write a snarky comment about how I’m wrong and that I have to submit via the Common App for Swarthmore as well. But alas… the website… speaks of other stories.

Anyways my main question:
Is it possible to just disregard the QB option and send in another application through the Common Application? I’m actually willing to pay the application fee…

Any reply would be much appreciated.
