I have been at community college for two years, because I went to CC for my senior year, and the college credits counted toward my senior year credits.
I was planning on applying to colleges after this semester, to transfer next fall. I took three classes this semester, Biology 101, Composition II, and a Math class. I did well in biology, with an A, and did well in comp, with a B+/A, but I might get a D+ in math, because I don't understand math, and I never will. I never have understood it, and have struggled with it all of my life.
The only colleges I was going to apply to were public state schools. I have a decent GPA, a 2.9, which is acceptable to state schools. And all of my other grades on my transcript are okay. I have 3 C's, 4 B's, and 3 A'S. (These grades are without the classes I took this semester).
So even though the majority of my other grades are okay, if I apply to these colleges with a D, will they not accept me? I will write an essay, explaining the grade. I also have a learning disability.
And please don't tell me to just stay at CC. I feel that I have matured and have done so well academically, and I am ready to transfer. I'm not going to let my weakness in math keep me from transferring. All I want to know is if having one D+ on my transcript will keep me from getting accepted at these colleges.

I would think your D+ in Math would only be a big issue if your intented major at the University required math to do some of the work … such as, all sciences including biology, and many social sciences like psychology, economics. If on the other hand your intended major is football studies (I mean sociology), a foreign language, arts, english, history, maybe even polisci, then not as much.

Dunnin, my intended major is psychology. But I did look on the college websites course requirement for psychology, and you only need one college level math, basic ststistics, and psycholoical statistics, which is only 3 classes.
