Hello all, I am going.to apply to CUNY Hunter College and I want to know if I have got a ddecent chance of getting in since the acceptance rate hovers around 22%. I believe my GPA will completely ruin my chances of even being considered. To tell everyone a little about my highschool career, I have been attending a small public school in NYC since my sophomore year of high-school(currently I am about to enter senior year.)Just this past summer I was awarded a scholarship from the Korean consulate general to study abroad in Korea for the entire month of July as a result of my performance in Korean class at school. I have also self taught myself Mandarin Chinese and have been doing so for 5 years. So, I am currently proficient in Korean Chinese and fluent in English. My GPA is quite low because of my sophomore year when my average tended to only be around 82. However I ended Junior year with a 89 average. Seeing as how my school did not offer AP classes until this year, I was unable to take them until now. However, this year I will be taking AP English. Also, I will also be the 12 grade representative for my schools student government and I am a member of photography club and I will join the gay straight alliance this year. I frequently usher at my church on Sunday's and I am now doing a volunteer internship being part of John Liu's campaign(he is running for NYC Mayor) My SAT scores are pretty low at 1510 but I hope to raise them to 1900 by December of this year. So my question is simply, what are my chances of getting accepted to Hunter? Is there anything that I can do to help my chances? Thanks in advanced!

You should learn how to look up the data so you can evaluate if your stats are in range or not. can google ‘CUNY Hunter common data set’ or use collegedata.com

It looks like your gpa is the average. Don’t know about scores, might be a tad low but close. It was suggested to you elsewhere that you can retake the SAT after prepping. But you should have a good chance.
