Applying to Georgetown from Catholic High School

Hi im an African American male who is considering applying to Georgetown from a private Catholic High school. How much does me going to a catholic high school affect my application process to Georgetown?

Most likely, it doesn’t. Catholic school counselors are more likely to be familiar with Georgetown, so that might be a slight benefit. Georgetown admissions officers also sometimes pick out Catholic (and especially Jesuit) schools for school visits. Beyond that, though, there probably won’t be any difference.

Coming from Catholic high school here… campus minister, lector, cantor, Parish wide award for youth leadership and mentorship… deferred :frowning: … not sure it matters anymore… our high school counselor said the old way to get into Georgetown was through a Jesuit high school or Major selection… but not anymore… the old days of preferences given to Catholic high school students is just about over…
