I was wondering if going to a jesuit high school, bc Georgetown is jesuit, will give any type of advantage? I go to a private jesuit school and am interested in Georgetown's SFS. So also what in your opinion are the most important things for admission? How high to test scores and GPA need to be? Are test scores that important if they are somewhat below Georgetown averages? Can they be compensated with something else on the application? I realize
this is all speculation but i hope that you guys have more info. and
experience with this than i do. Thanks a lot.

Georgetown definitely does a majority of its recruiting at jesuit high schools so while it may not give you an "official advantage" you'll definitely have more access to admissions officer and, most likely, alumni as well.

What a recruiter told us at college night (My D is at a Jesuit HS) is that "officially" they don't favor kids from Jesuit schools. But "wink" of course you have an advantage because that world is very small, they all know each other, they know the HS's very well, know the counselors, respect them, they also know the schools, the courses, the work required of a students, etc. Also, Most Jesuit HS's require service, something very important to the colleges. As well, Georgetown recognizes the religion classes that must be taken, so those are included in the GPA (unlike many other schools) They also know the College would most likely be a very good fit and that a student is used to that style of education. He said while of course Jesuit Colleges have average GPA and SAT scores, they really do look at the whole person and package. So go for it. We toured Georgetown a few weeks ago. It was wonderful.....
