Has anyone else?

esa, i still don't have any confirmation. I mailed mine out the 9th. Have you heard from your other schools?

cubfan, does ur Lion Links page show that all ur materials are received?

My daughter mailed her applications on the 10th. By the 17th all but 2 items showed as rec'd on Exeter's Lions Link (I think they must have the others as well). No word yet from Milton and Groton.

where did you get the password for Lion Links?

i mailed my Exeter apps on the 4th. It takes 10 days at most for mail to get from Hong Kong to the US... and it hasn't shown up at 'received' yet. Getting worried...

Oh, and cubfan, you should've received an email from Exeter giving you your username and password.

Exeter emailed the Lion Links username and password after my daughter submitted Part I of the application online.

Does anyone know about financial aid? If you receive notice that you are eligible for a certain amount - is that then slightly negotiable with the schools which you applied for or is it final? Anyone had any experience with this or know of others who have?

Its negotiable.

Thank you esa - you're made my day!

Especially at Andover, not so much at Exeter.

Generally speaking though, would you say that the majority of schools are open for negotiation?

If you get a better offer from a school that is not your first choice , your first choice school will usually match. They will address this issue when you recieve your aid pack with the fat envelope. good luck!

Thank you very much prepparent. What time frame would the aid pack arrive? Do you receive your initial offering and then the aid pack a few weeks later? please excuse all my questions. I am just so new this.

Actually, they will come at the same time.

My sis is gonna apply to my school this fall. Can anyone reccomend effective ways of studying for the ISEE and/or SSAT?? Any good books you reccomend?? Thanks.

try the princeton review, cracking the ssat and isee.

Prepparent you are very knowledgable and I appreciate all your help. It is so difficult when you are new at this to understand all the different areas. One last question I have. All my child's paperwork is completed. All I have left to do is the interview. Should I do that asap as some of the schools deadlines were January 15 or Feb. 1 or will the schools wait until you have completed interview?

what do you think about the barron and/or kaplan books??

I don't think you need to do much studying for SSAT. My S, who did not do particularly well on PSAT and thought yesterday's SAT was hard, got 92% on SSAT with absolutely no preparation. In fact, he left the field from a wilderness program to go take it!
