Applying to Prep School!!!

Yeah guys, it makes life so much easier. Just post on the results board...

yeah, engineering is a very broad industry to get into. you'll never really be wanting of jobs in that one.

did anyone get something from the choral director, etc, sayinging how happy they were you were applying, written in their own handwriting?

i received that they were very happy and thankful for applying to that school and was signed by the director of the admission but it was not his handwriting but it was not a digital sign, it was his own. Do you guys think this person made thousands of copies of the same message and just signed??

i got that from all the schools too excpt most of them were handwritten postcards

Question --- what if i actively participate in something that the school i applied to is part of their mission? Meaning, this school's mission (part of it) was to serve others - meaning community service, and i was the community service chairman. does this help me in my chances?

you opinion counts. thanks

kevster i lost your im.sry

kevster- my opinion counts?!? WHOA!

I think we try and pin false hope on things we receive. I got letters from various heads of the drama department, and I had a very good meeting with one of them. But it probably doesnt mean much in terms of admission, especially with all the other factors.

Kevster, I'd have to say that its more important what you did then what you lead. If it was a line on a resume, they might glance at it and go 'huh'. If you wrote your essays on what that meant to you, and blah blah blah, it might mean more to them.

I also wrote about it -- community service and i also mentioned it to my interviewer! i talked about it and maybe the toughest question was "one thing you can contribute to this school" but luckily I answered well.

kevster, what's your community service weekly rate?

Wow, how nerve wrecking. It's actually going to be Thursday night at 10 for me, because i live in Hong Kong.

Ah, but you live in Hong Kong. We Americans will have to wait AGES (days). Arg. I can check Groton online though so thats a plus. I dont think I'll get in. But we can hope, neh?

Andover- top choice
Groton- 2nd
Exeter-3rd
Then there are some day schools around here I applied to. I already got into one of them, so I'll be going somewhere next fall...

Today my D got a letter from a Prep School (day in our city) saying she is being considered for their Scholars Program.. The admission letters don't come out until next Friday, but its nice to get something like this early. Looks like they are courting her a bit. Okay, maybe not, but a very nice letter to get anyway!!

i have a question, what's thewebsite evryones going to list if they got in or not? are we staying here? itwould be way easier.

i agree completely!

about posting on here, wow sorry again

It's under "Boarding School Decisions." I just thought it would be pretty messy if everyone posted everything here and there was no order.

i think im in lawrenceville, this guy whos tight with the board in my city wrote a personal reccomendation and the guy at lawrenceville wrote back this letter that said "i think she is a strong candidate in her own right, but i am particularly interested because she is from the south. We have t less than 100 from below the mason-dixon line, but two girls from her city. Let's make her the third!" and he went on to say that he was pulling for me and stuff

so IM SOOOO EXCITED

but i cant get my hopes up too much, i would be devistated if i didnt get in after that encouraging letter...what do ya'll think?

I'm keeping my hopes down to the minimum but i'm still going to cry my eyes out if i'm not accepted. im scared of rejection.lmao.just kidding.
