Do i have a better chance of getting into Rice applying EA to engineering.

rice has ED, not EA

Well, statistically, they have a higher acceptance rate, but often times the student quality is better with EA.

Historically, the RD acceptance rate for Rice has been around 25%. The ED acceptance rate has been around 33%.
So yes, there's a slight statistical advantage in applying ED. Make sure to research the pros and cons of applying ED though, because if you get in ED, you've committed to attending the school even if the financial aid package isn't as high as you hoped it was.

rd: 20%

ea: 28%

ed: 29%

Rice doesn't have an early action plan, so I don't know where you're getting these numbers.

Probably the old interim decision statistics, which was taken out of the options this past year.
