<p>When applying to NYU, if you aren't accepted into a particular school, do you get rejected entirely or deferred to another school within NYU?</p>
<p>For example, if I had interest in NYU Stern, would I have to specifically apply to Stern and if I got rejected from Stern would I be entirely rejected from all schools of NYU altogether?</p>

<p>for stern in particular, yes you would be rejected from stern and all other schools because you are specifically applying to stern</p>
<p>for the other schools at nyu (tisch, cas, etc.) if you dont get accepeted into the particular school you apply to you might get accepted to the liberal studies program</p>
<p>the liberal studies program is basically a school for those who almost got accepted. every year they take those applicants who were almost given admission to their choice of school and give them an lsp admission instead because of limited space in the school they applied to.</p>
