I am an international student. I got rejected from Vassar this year. But I have taken a year gap and am involved in quite a lot useful of activities, and will be retaking the Sat. I really want to apply ED to Vassar. My question is: How does Vassar view applications from students like me? Will I be evaluated freshly, or will I be at a particular disadvantage even though I might have improved during the year? I emailed Vassar and they just said that I am most welcome to apply. So if you know anyone who got admitted after reapplying, please let me know. Thank you in advance for your responce.

wondering this also

I doubt that you'll be viewed less positively than any other student who is applying to Vassar for the first time and imagine that you'll be evaluated freshly. After all, a lot can change with an individual in a year and, though you might not have fit in the class of 2012, you could be a better match for the class of 2013. Last year could have been a year where there were several applicants who looked just like you on paper, while this upcoming year you might standout more from the crowd. I can't promise that this is the case, but I rather doubt that the admissions office would take one look at you, say "Oh, that's right, he/she got rejected last year," and ignore the rest of your application.

Thanks for the reply. I feel hopeful now :)
