Applying too close to the deadline?

Hey guys, I am reallllyyyyyyyy lazy.

I haven't even started on the UF application but I need to get cracking this week on my apps. I'll probably submit my UF app this weekend on like the 16-18th or something. What I want to know is did I severely hurt my chances by applying this late? UF is my top choice and if I don't get accepted I wouldn't really know what to do..

If it helps: I'm applying for the Summer Term right before the Fall, just in case because I heard Summer = better chance.

3.95 UW GPA, 4.5-4.6 UF recalculated, Hispanic, Low income, 2000-2100 October SATs, not very great extracurricular and clubs but I do have 2 positions in 2 clubs so I would say my ECs and clubs are decent, top 4% of 763 seniors, 8 AP classes, and 5 DE classes.

Thanks.

It won’t severely hurt you, but it still will. Apply asap. However, you have good stats, so I would not worry about it.

no, as long as you submit the application before the deadline, it doesn’t matter. I didn’t submit my application until a half hour before the deadline and I still got in. also, I think you have a really good chance of getting in, both summer and fall.

Thanks for the input, Engineer.

Thank you, glasswright. What were your stats, if I may ask? My friend also submitted her application like a day before the deadline and she had 1600s (out of 2400 not 1600) and she got in… so that gives me hope lol. But you never know.

I don’t remember if it was my guidance counselor who told me, or if I read it on the admissions website, but I definitely remember hearing that they don’t even start considering the applications until after the deadline has passed. As I said before, it doesn’t matter when it gets submitted as long it is before the deadline.

Anyway, My stats were really close to yours. 2060 SAT and 33 ACT (combining the best scores), Weighted GPA 4.6ish, Unweighted 3.8, rank 4 out of 450, African American. I only applied for Fall, but in my opinion, starting in summer is better.

I have heard that its better to apply early. You will have a priority with housing.

This is true. You cannot apply for housing until you get an ID. And you don’t get an ID until you have submitted your app. Applying for housing early = higher priority.
