Appreciation

S has been accepted to Pitt, UHC and the college of Engineering. He continues to be "courted" to attend Pitt and I appreciate the mails that we receive. We get the Dear Parents mails to tell us why Pitt is the right place for our S. They are convincing letters and almost seem personal. Of course we know they are not, but they definitely seem in tune with what is important to S.

Another school has has been accepted to (also honors and engineering) has contacted us (well him only actually) to mention the additional honors opportunities that he needs to apply to by Dec 1. Nothing else to really say why their school is a good choice for S, although they are, but it's up to S to find out why.

So, so far Pitt has been a very positive experience for us.

They do a really good job of courting. My S got more letters and such from them than he did from the other couple of colleges he applied to. Interestingly, my S was planning to go to BU and had a nice experience during their admitted students day last April. Then a few days later he attended the equivalent event at Pitt and decided to go to Pitt. Sometimes it comes down to the end and to the “feel” of the place, especially when all else is nearly equal. He’s very glad he’s going to Pitt thus far.
