Appropriate Minor for Psychology

Hello! I plan on attending school this year with my declared major as Psychology, but the problem arises in choosing a minor. First I considered sociology as it seemed the most relevant, but I also enjoy studying philosophy and have heard that can also be useful with as a minor. My long term goal is to get my Master's in psychology and I want to get involved in research studies. Can anyone lend any suggestions for choosing my minor? Thanks!

Sociology and Philosophy would both be good. Also consider possibly Economics, Anthropology, Biology. In the end though, the minor should be more about your interest than anything else. It's not generally a deal-maker or breaker for jobs/grad programs.

if you want to do research, the ideal minor would be something in statistics (if offered). psychology is a very broad field, so depending on your exact interests, other helpful majors could be biology, chemistry, zoology, human/child development, sociology, philosophy,or neuroscience.

huskem55's suggestions are very good, and it really does depend on what branch of psychology you're the most interested in. If you really enjoy philosophy, go for it! It'll be helpful and interesting.
